DO NOT RECOMMEND - Please DON’T Choose Orlando Orthopedic Center for Your Care!
If I can save anyone the headache this place has been giving me the past 8 months, then that’s what I want to do.
Their operational and billing practices will leave you with more frustration and pain than what you are feeling physically before going to their offices. They will continually refer you to different offices and doctors within their practice as a means to get more money from you and your insurance company while not actually helping you address your issues. The office wasn’t prepared for one of my appointments as they didn’t have the MRI images available for me to see. If I did want to see the MRI images they had taken, instead of simply the MRI Tech’s report, I would have had to schedule an additional appointment and pay more money for it. The staff is as nice as you get anywhere, I’ll give them that, but somewhat inexperienced due to what seems to be little time out of their respective medical schools. I’ve had more success with addressing my concerns with a Certified Personal Trainer, which isn’t even a trained medical professional, than the young doctor that assisted me with my lower lumbar issues. I had an injection in my lower lumbar which had minimal impact. They didn’t even look at my piriformis or glutes as part of the issue. They simply kept charging me money and offering me more ways to give them money. I even mentioned the glutes during one of my office visits and was told “could be, don’t know.” What? You’re the doctor. What are you being paid for?
For each of my visits, they took my insurance information prior to the appointment and contacted me with what my payment would be that would be due at each appointment. For each appointment, I asked what the self-pay price would be if I chose to go that route and of course the cost due with my insurance was lower than the self-pay option. After I went through one of the procedures, they started sending me additional bills. I switched insurance companies after I had gotten treatment so my insurance company was also giving me the run-around. I had to ask for an itemized bill which took them close to a month to get to me. Now they are billing me with the same itemizations but are charging more for one of the line items and nobody can tell me why. When I talk to their billing department, I keep asking to talk with someone who oversees both the coding and billing as not everyone can see everything on my file due to HIPPA, but nobody has gotten back to me in months. The last time I spoke to someone at billing, I asked why I’m now being billed more than I would have paid if I self-paid and they said it was due to my insurance. So my insurance “negotiated down” the rates, paid nothing (my insurance hasn’t given any money to this office) and I have to pay the difference, which is more than the self-pay amounts I was told when I asked for those. In the conversation with the OOC billing agent, I stated that I wish I would have known and I would have just gone the self-pay route since it would have been cheaper, and she stated, “yeah, looks like it.” Insurance aside, they still can’t tell my why one of the line items went up an extra $100 from the first itemized invoice I received and the latest one. I’ve asked for someone to contact me via email, phone, and chat but get no response. I attempted to file a Better Business Bureau complaint but they can’t do much due to HIPPA and the office not getting them the info they need either. I have yet to pay the full invoice since I would very much like clarification on the line items, which nobody can seem to give me.
What is the most disheartening about the experience is that many of the 1 star reviews on here allude to the same issues I had and the response is always to call Priscilla, the “Patient Care Team Manager” about the concerns. Why would a medical office which should be adhering to a Hippocratic oath need to have a patient care team at all? Shouldn’t the entire business be about patient care?

Dr. Lawrence is the best he did my trigger finger surgery, is been 3 months from the surgery and I feel like nothing happened and I can't barely see the scar. The staff are nice. They are the best.

Called the 16th of October to setup an appointment to have my knee checked out. I was offered an appointment for Thursday the 20th, I informed the customer service person I was leaving town for work Tuesday evening if by any chance they had one for Tuesday the 17th. She said we actually have a 9:30 appointment. I moved my schedule around, showed up the 17th at 9am and was told the appointment is for the 24th. It seems all these great doctors have incompetent staff to deal with the public. I’m in the worst pain! literally hobbled into the office and I was turned away.
